Freebie

I was browsing one of my favorite sites, Faithful Provisions. To my surprise and excitement, there is a $1/1 Coffee-Mate Printable .

Paired with the typical $1 sale at Kroger means FREEEEEEE! :0)

Happy New Year!

End of the Year

Since I feel like it is the "normal" thing to do . . . . here is a year end blog. Maybe next year I will actually have enough posts/fans/followers/whatever to create a count down of sorts.

In case you don't realize just by my blog title/purpose, I resolve in 2011 to SAVE more money. My husband has a profound opinion that you can't get blood out of a turnip and our budget/income is the proverbial turnip. In my opinion though, that is exactly why I must cut expenses. I can ALWAYS find places to cut my expenses.

Earlier in 2010, we cut out cable and opted for Netflix. Yep, $8.99 plus tax a month for unlimited instant streaming and 1 DVD at time. Next month though the fine folks at Netflix is raising the costs to $9.99, and I just don't know if I want to spend that extra dollar. So they are also introducing a $7.99 package that is only instant streaming, no DVDs in the mail. So I'm trying to decide just how cheap do I want to be for the new year. :)

We'll see.

.........................................................................................

As for the last day of 2010, I have spent it with family. And in my normal manner, I didn't have the ingredients to cook what was requested so I improvised and the dish was a hit. First time I have made it for this part of the family and they loved it. I didn't have any more money in the grocery budget so I did what any frugal gal would do and offered what I had. Yummy!

We're actually now getting ready to head to another family gathering. I pray everyone has a fabulous New Year's Eve and a great day tomorrow.

Staying Home and Loving It

I love being a stay at home mom. In September 2009, I decided I needed to be at home to take care of my family and homeschool my girls. Thus, my journey has begun. I can't say that every minute has been everything I had hoped it would be. I mean I had visions of the girls sitting quietly in their desks and working on their school work. I pictured getting up at the crack of dawn and having breakfast ready. School going smoothly and us just enjoying every aspect of our day. However, every day is a blessing because God called me into this and I am not leaving until God calls me away. Most days, my family is much happier now that I am at home

Now, the reason I created a blog. I want to give the hints, tips and resources that I use to "make ends meet". Everything in our family has to be budget conscience. Living on one income in a two income world is hard.

I must also admit creating a blog sounded like fun and a way to meet new friends.

Have a blessed day!
